Kolasin

The area on the banks of the river Tara in a triangle Biogradska worse, with the outer edges of Trešnjevik and Bjelasica was called "Kolašinovićevs". Raising the city in mid-seventeenth century by Kolašinovićevs is probably the city was named Kolasin. In its rich history around Kolasin have in the past led the battle against various invaders.

Because of its geographical and strategic position and thus, first the Turks, and later the Austro-Hungarians and other foreign invaders who at times were his masters, Kolasin was an extremely important position. Around Kolasin in the nineteenth century led the Montenegrins (rovcani, Moracani, Vasojevici, Uskoci and Drobnjaci) many battles against the Turks, who at that time were known for evil. It was not until 1878, at the Berlin Congress of the great powers, Kolasin is finally went to Montenegro and freed the Turkish authorities.

Kolasin area inhabited mainly rovcani, Moracani, Vasojevici, Uskoci and settlers from various places.

The construction of roads and other infrastructure facilities, which is typical for the period after the Second World War, created growing opportunities for the use of natural resources for tourism extremely attractive finish. That raised the prospect of a better and richer life of the population.

Kolasin is located at an altitude of 954m and offers excellent opportunities for summer and winter holidays. Because of his size and favorable climate Kolasin can be considered an air spa. The area lies in the upper reaches of Tara and Morace. The city is surrounded by mountain ridges and peaks: Sinjajevine, Cape Moracka, Maganik, Komovi and Bjelasica. A special place among the natural beauty in this area, occupying a quiet mountain lakes on Bjelasica, and the same is true for exciting canyons and majestic valley of the river Tara and Moraca.
