Tivat

Town is the coastline town situated in the centre of Boka Bay. It lies at the foot of Vrmac, a spur of Mount Lovćen. Mountains loom behind Tivat while attractive beaches and coves line its coast.

Tivat shows traces of past epochs—Illyrian and Roman, Byzantian and Servian, Venetian-Turkish and Austrian—with architecture and archaeology. Historically, it was a popular summer residence for Kotor’s nobility.

Flowers bloom year-round, especially on Prevlaka Island (Island of Flowers). The natural beauty of the landscape and flora add to Tivat’s historic and cultural attractions. These include monastery complexes of St. Michael the Archangel and Island of Our Lady of Grace, medieval summer palaces such as Buca, and numerous churches.

Popular attractions in the town include St. Marko Island and the Porto Montenegro marina. Many traditional celebrations also unfold in Tivat each year, from Tivatsko Kulturno Ljeto (Tivat’s Cultural Summer) and Novembarski Dani Kulture (November’s days of culture) to Dan Mladosti (Day of Youth).

This is is the municipality where the most luxurious hotels and resorts are established. From Porto Montenegro with Hotel Regent, over Nikki beach to Lustica bay with Chedi hotel. If you enjoy luxury hotels, but still want to see more of the country, this is the perfect town for you. It is at great location within 1h30min driving distance to Lovcen, and Skadar lake National Parks, Cetinje- Old Royal Capital, Kotor and Budva.
