Raft 21 challenging rapids in the world’s second-deepest Canyon. Ideal for nature and adventure lovers, this 18-kilometer river journey from Brštanovice to Šćepan Polje and combines the thrill of white water rafting with the beautiful scenery of Durmitor National Park.
At 82 kilometers (51 miles) long and 1,300 meters (4,300 feet) deep, the Tara River Canyon is the longest canyon in Montenegro and second-deepest in the world, after the Grand Canyon. Tara Canyon is protected within the range of Durmitor National Park and a tentative UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The river rafting tour includes stops at scenic points of interest such as waterfalls and swimming holes. After rafting, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Šćepan Polje. Make scenic stops along Piva River, Piva Lake, Lake Slano, and Boka Bay on the return journey to Kotor.
Example itinerary:
08:00 - Departure from Kotor
10:30 - Arrival on Scepan Polje in rafting camp, breakfast by the river.
11:00 - Preparations for rafting (providing all the participants with a life jacket, helmets and waterproof clothes and shoes)
12:00 – 12:00 - Driving with off-road vehicles to the Brštanovica (starting point of rafting)
12:30 – 16:00 - Rafting through the most attractive rapids on Tara River, with pauses on the most appropriate and beautiful spots, taking photos of waterfalls, swimming…
16:00h - Arrival at Šćepan Polje, the end of the rafting, lunch in the local restaurant.
17:30 - Departure from Scepan Polje to Kotor, on the way back we have few photo stops of Piva river, Piva lake, lake Slano, Boka bay.
20:00 - Arrival in Kotor.
